This incredible beautiful private home on the hills of Sausalito is situated adjacent to the Golden Gat National Recreation Area. The location adjacent this ecologically significant Pacific coastal landscape has inspired not only the lead architect, Seán McArdle, but also us.

Overlooking the expansive San Francisco bay and the city skyline, we’ve been inspired by Sean McArdle’s use of considered volumes, geometries and proportions that curate the framed million dollar views. From within this incredible abode, one can see the weather rolling in over San Francisco in all its glory–and with it the atmosphere in and around the house changes constantly.

We tried to capture a couple of these nuanced moods in our visuals – one being refreshingly positive on a beautiful morning in mid-summer, and as a contrast a gloomy and pensive, yet mesmerisingly beautiful late afternoon scene right before a storm is rolling in.

Whilst creating these visuals, we couldn’t help but listening to the song “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” on constant repeat:

“The loveliness of Paris seems somehow sadly grey...

...I left my heart in San Francisco.

High on a hill, it calls to me.
To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars.
The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care.
My love waits there in San Francisco.

Above the blue and windy sea.
When I come home to you, San Francisco.
Your golden sun will shine for me.
When I come home to you, San Francisco.
Your golden sun will shine for me."

Sung by Tony Bennett, music composed by George C. Cory Jr., lyrics written by Douglass Cross, released on 18 June 1962
