LUCE is a large-scale renovation and urban renewal project at
the prestigious inner ring of Moscow. The building is located in a quiet lane,
hidden away from the main traffic. Two doors away is the exclusive satellite campus of the famed Gnessin
Music College, and down the road the Schusev State Museum of Architecture. Only
800m away; the Kremlin!
The front façade on Krestovozdvizhenskiy Lane had to be
preserved. The house was originally designed by Vladimir Glazov, and built in
1927. The new building trunk with its own private yard features microcement, fluted
stone, burned and satin-finished brass metals, laser-cut balustrades, and
oversized, triple-glazed, brass-framed windows.
