Our brief was simple...create visuals that evoke “sea, surf, sand & serenity” based on the brand’s initial concept positioning story:
City life is relentless. In the concrete jungle,
you rush from deadline to deadline, juggling a horde of different tasks. You
fight your way through congested roadways, through polluted air, thick with
honking horns and shouted cries. Yes, life here can bring affluence,
opportunity and convenience, but it also brings stress — settling around your
neck as a weight, growing steadily heavier with time, dragging you right down.
There’s no question, it can’t wait, you need to take a break.
Beach life is idyllic. In the palm tree shaded
dunes, you enjoy peace and relaxation, drinking in the fresh and cool ocean
breeze. You fight your way through the invigorating ocean waves, through the
cresting white-capped surf, playing in the cool, blue water. Yes, life here
brings relaxation, revitalisation, and re-energisation, truly it’s the perfect
remedy for stress — taking the weight from your shoulders, bringing you peace
and calm, building you back up. There’s no question, it can’t wait, this is the
break you need.
The Aria Resort & Hotel in Da Nang is
quintessential beach relaxation. Directly astride the unspoilt Non Nuoc Beach,
you’ll step right from your accommodation onto soft, white beach sand. The
salty ocean air playing across your skin, you can lie back on your reserved
beach lounger, placing an order with the waiter, as you watch the brilliant
hues of the setting sun reflect off of the azure waters before you. Just behind
is a glittering swimming pool. Lit late into the night, the pool lies in the
resort’s central avenue, flanked on each side by a row of villas and
townhouses, and by a pair of soaring high-rise apartment buildings.
Well-connected and right at the centre of Da Nang
and Hoi An’s extensive collection of tourist and leisure attractions, Aria
offers a host of opportunities, both on the premises and off. The resort is envisions
two conference halls, and an exceptional array of restaurants and other F&B
outlets. At the peak of one of Aria’s twin towers, a rooftop bar waits. As the
elevator doors slide open, the majesty of the location is unveiled. What was an
exceptional vista from down below, turns into something entirely unmatched from
this incredible vantage point. You’re perfectly relaxed, looking down at a
perfect beach, beside a perfect sea. This is life at Aria.
Together with the brandign agency, we envisioned each shot to include a water element. Each image ought to
show plenty of space around the resort, contrasting the pressure of city life,
whether through using the sky, the ocean, or low-rise neighbouring buildings.
Wherever possible, the two towers served as focal points or frames, creating
interesting compositions and providing a sense of scale.
The Aria Danang images were produced through two sets
of art directions, with each providing a different atmosphere, and
communicating a different aspect of the brand’s key selling point.
The first
gives a quintessential beach holiday feeling, showing daylight lighting, clear
blue skies and plenty of water.
The second art direction chosen for Aria Danang’s
CGI aims for a warmer, more emotive feeling. Through the use of morning and
early evening lighting, showing sunrises and sunsets, it evokes an emotional
response, allowing people to imagine themselves there, enjoying their dream
holiday.
